History

Nelsons was Started in 1935 and has been a family firm ever since. It started by supplying wooden crates and during the war years supplied packaging for munitions.

The Coleman Family have had a strong influence on the Company with the current Chairman's Grandfather Starting the Company and his Farther {the previous Chairman} all playing active rolls.

However under Paul Coleman's guidance it flourished specialising in Corrugated packaging supplying the shoe and knitwear trade through out the midlands.

The business moved in the mid 80's to Birstall where it remained until 2003 when it moved to its current premises on Silverdale Drive

The current MD Gary Mason joined in 2002 and has taken the Business in a new direction. With the shoe trade and Knitwear trade dying off it became clear that its future lay in other areas.

Nelsons targeted bespoke work in industrial and food packaging and the business has been rewarded with huge success making Nelsons a multi million pound packaging company and a serious player in today's Competitive marketplace.

However Nelsons is aware of its roots and the family honesty and integrity still remains with several of the Coleman Family still involved along side the new Mason Family name who now proudly take their place in the Nelsons history files... The past... The Present and the Future...
